abstract = "A Zona de Converg{\^e}ncia do Atl{\^a}ntico Sul (ZCAS) {\'e} um
importante sistema meteorol{\'o}gico para o Brasil,
principalmente nas regi{\~o}es Norte, Centro-Oeste e Sudeste. Com
uma orienta{\c{c}}{\~a}o cl{\'a}ssica de noroeste-sudeste que
se inicia no sul da Amaz{\^o}nia e se estende at{\'e} o Oceano
Atl{\^a}ntico Sudoeste.
produ{\c{c}}{\~a}o est{\'a} diretamente associada a
aus{\^e}ncia da ZCAS, h{\'a} tamb{\'e}m preju{\'{\i}}zos
humanas. Diante dessa problem{\'a}tica, o objetivo principal
de Circula{\c{c}}{\~a}o Geral Oceano-Atmosfera (MCGOA), i.e.
Modelo Brasileiro do Sistema Terrestre BESM, ambos desenvolvidos
utilizando a temperatura da superf{\'{\i}}cie do oceano
prescrita.
objetivo atrav{\'e}s de {\'{\i}}ndices estat{\'{\i}}sticos
(BIAS e RMSE). O modelo acoplado MCGOABESM, foi sens{\'{\i}}vel
Na an{\'a}lise
objetiva da precipita{\c{c}}{\~a}o, o RMSE apresentou melhores
ABSTRACT:
The South Atlantic Convergence Zone (SACZ) is a major weather
system to Brazil, mainly in the North, Midwest and Southeast. With
a classical orientation NW-SE that starts in the southern Amazon
and extends to the southwest Atlantic Ocean. The absence of SACZ
causes these regions a direct effect on agriculture, resulting in
low productivity and consequently a negative impact on the
economy. In the industry sector, the low production is directly
associated with electricity generation since the Southeast region
consumes much of the energy produced in Brazil due to its high
industrialization and its high population number. On the other
hand, in addition to the economic losses caused by the absence of
SACZ, there is also social harm when SACZ is very intense due to
extreme precipitation events caused by it, the big cities to have
a larger population, end up being even more vulnerable to impacts
caused by heavy rains, such impacts are related since the loss of
property as a whole, but especially the loss of human lives. Faced
with this problem, the main objective of this study is the ability
of global atmospheric models (AGCM) and coupled global
ocean-atmosphere (CGCM), i.e. Brazilian Earth System Model BESM,
both developed at CPTEC/INPE, in representing 4 cases SACZ that
occurred during the years 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2013. in order to
evaluate the effect of ocean-atmosphere coupling in the formation
and maintenance of SACZ experiments were performed with the
coupled model and its atmospheric component, using the temperature
of the prescribed ocean surface. In addition, for each of the
models, the experiments in each case were carried out with 10
members. The results were evaluated subjectively (visually) in the
analysis of meteorological fields as well as in an objective
manner using statistical indices (BIAS and RMSE). The coupled
model MCGOABESM was sensitive to the effect of coupling
(ocean-atmosphere) playing a TSM with lower heating rate, with a
sensitivity to radiation shading in the region that there was
rainfall record. Therefore less heat that is a result of the
incident radiation, which modulates the temperature of the surface
taking into account the presence of clouds. The temperature
difference between the models, the MCGA had a warmer demeanor than
MCGOABESM. The coupled model reproduced the band of precipitation
northwest-southeast orientation close to what was noted in the
observed data associating the SACZ. However, precipitation was
overestimated in all cases compared to observation. The objective
analysis of the precipitation, the RMSE showed better results for
the MCGOABESM. The compounds fields became apparent the dominant
pattern of case studies featuring the SACZ, especially over the
ocean.",
